Things That Go Bump in the Night
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Dark
Skies in Flagstaff
More than 100 species of night-flying moths—some large and
spectacularly beautiful—haunt the night skies. Rarely seen giant
centipedes, scorpions, spiders, bats, mice, and small carnivores abound in
our nocturnal landscape. In this free program for the whole family, Dr.
Larry Stevens will introduce strange creatures from the Flagstaff area and
describe how they live. Afterwards, weather permitting, see some of these
animals using an ultraviolet light set up outside the Museum.
