| Volunteers are
critical to the mission of the Museum of Northern Arizona. Listed below
are current openings for volunteering at MNA. If you have a skill
or an interest that doesn't fit a current opening, submit a Volunteer
Information Form anyway! Volunteer positions are often created to
take advantage of the gifts possessed by a particular volunteer.

Visitor Services |
Help create a positive
visitor experience by greeting the public, responding to logistical
questions from visitors, and helping to ensure a safe environment.
Handle radio calls from staff while walking the Museum galleries. Duties
may include handling door security, sharing information about the
Colorado Plateau and the Museum, and assisting in Museum Shop and
Bookstore when busy.

Publications |
Help promote the Museum by
updating databases, processing publication orders, and assisting with
mailings.
|

Museum Shop /
Bookstore |
Assist in retail operations
at Museum Bookstore and Museum Shop specializing in Native American
jewelry and art. Must enjoy working with the public! Experience is
helpful, but not necessary. Training in sales procedure and merchandise
provided.

Public Programs / Events |
The Museum hosts a number
of special events including our Heritage Program Festivals, Archaeology
Day, Member’s Exhibit Preview Receptions, and the Community Holiday
Party. Volunteer during these fun and educational events by serving as a
hospitality host, greeter, working with children in the creation of
children’s art projects, and assisting with security.

Membership Assistant |
Assist Membership Manager,
Liz Gumerman, in entering membership information into Raiser's Edge and
with preparing mailings, planning member's events, etc. Familiarity and
skill in computers. Comfortable with Word. Detail oriented. Will train
in Raiser Edge. 1 morning (2-3 hours each day) per week. On-going.

Docent Program |
Learn to be a tour guide in
the Museum by attending a comprehensive nine-month training course
regarding archaeology, ethnology, geology/paleontology, ecology, fine
arts, and more. Training begins in the fall each year and a commitment
of at least two years is required. Please fill out the Volunteer
Information Form and contact the Volunteer/Docent Coordinator for more
information.

Education |
Assist staff of Education
Department in all administrative functions. Special projects can be
developed based on volunteer interest.
|
|
Marketing Assistant |
Assist Marketing Manager in
clipping newspaper and magazine articles relating to the Museum of
Northern Arizona. Organize clips in folders by topic for eventually
archiving. Assist with the Xeroxing of monthly MNA calendars possibly
using the reisograph (will train). 1 day per week for 2-4 hours.
