Discovery Educator :: Cole Habay
Cole Habay is a teacher and leader in experiential and environmental education believing in systems thinking applied through a big picture approach. She has a passion for integrated teaching by incorporating the Colorado Plateau as her extended classroom while applying the nature principle for real life learning. She has been a Montessori elementary teacher since 2006, has been an outdoor adventure guide since 1996, and has started programs in outdoor education and recycled art. She received an Environmental Ed Certification from the Four Corners School of Environmental Education in Monticello, UT in 2009, a Montessori Certification from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in Boulder, CO in 2007, and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Anthropology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in 1996. A resident of Arizona for over 13 years, Cole resides by the Coconino National Forest by Flagstaff, AZ where she enjoys daily excursions on bicycles, on skis, or on foot and paints multi-paneled, colorful pieces depicting themes of life cycles and universal ideas.
