Discovery Educator :: Chandra Robinson
Born and raised in Avon Ohio, Chandra fell in love with art at an early age. She attended Ohio University where she acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Art Education. While in college, her main focus was on ceramics and creating with clay, but she was also highly trained in a variety of art mediums and processes.
After college, Chandra traveled the Western United States in search of her "little Athens of the West". She landed instead in San Diego where she taught art classes for adults and children at a small art centere.
Chandra Moved to Flagstaff with her husband in 2002 and picked up work with local artist Mark (Arne) Arnegard as a studio assistant. In 2005 she made the move to open her own ceramic studio and gallery, Earth-n-Ware Ceramics, where she was able to return to her passion for teaching. While she offered classes for children and adults, her spacious studio also allowed her the opportunity to work on and create her own artwork which she sold in her front gallery. Struggling to recover from the recession that rocked our economy in the fall of 2008, Chandra sadly closed the doors at Earth-n-Ware in December of 2009.
Since closing her shoppe, Chandra has worked with the Flagstaff Unified School District as a substitute teacher and continues to create artwork in her quaint basement studio. Her work can be seen in local art shows and is available for purchase at Practical Art in Phoenix.
