Adult Volunteers

MNA Discovery welcomes participation by adults as volunteers. If you have a desire to help enrich the lives of children, contact the MNA Volunteer Office for information on how you can participate.

Junior Counselor Program

Junior Counselors ages 13–18 assist Discovery educators with programs. This volunteer opportunity provides valuable job experience and allows Discovery participants to stay connected in new ways. When asked about her experience as a former Discovery participant and now three- year Junior Counselor, Kelly Reid exclaims, “"I always looked forward to summer camps at MNA as a participant. Now that I’m older, I still love camp, but return each year because of the joy it brings me to pass on my experiences to new kids.”

Junior Counselors will be assigned classes, based upon personal interest and program needs. Junior Counselors of a younger age will assist with programs for 4–5 or 6–8 year olds, allowing them to serve as mentors.
