MNA Discovery :: Ages 6–8
Creepy Crawly Clay
This is a two-week introductory class that delves into the study of local plants and bugs while learning traditional clay forming techniques. It’s a terrific hands-on introduction to the botany and entomology of the Colorado Plateau! Week one will focus on creating a small pinch pot and then building ceramic beetles, butterflies, scorpions, and spiders engaging with their preferred native plant. Week two will explore surface decoration, glazing, and an exciting pit-firing of the pinch pots.
