Supervisor: Discovery ManagerPosition Description:
Junior Counselors
are responsible for assisting the lead educators and assistants. They
are responsible for assisting children during activities, clean-up,
and general supervision the students. They are available to assist the
lead educator and assistant as needed. Junior Counselors are expected
to act professionally at all times, and act as mentors to the students
they work with.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Assist Lead Educator and Assistant in developing a positive and educational environment
• Watch out for the safety and educational needs of students
• Assist Lead Educator and Assistant in maintaining classroom control
• Attend Junior Counselor training prior to the start of camp
• Must assist Lead Educator and Assistant with thorough classroom cleaning at the end of the class
Requirements:
• Must be 14-18 years old
• Must be able to relay directions clearly and concisely
• Must be able to work well with others, including youth
• Attention to detail
Working Conditions:
Indoors and outdoors,
Monday through Friday unless otherwise specified.
Must be able to walk moderate distances, and work well with others
Position contingent upon passing a satisfactory background check
